Speaker Biography

Dr. Wolfgang Linden

With over thirty years experience conducting research and teaching, as well as consultancies in primary and chronic disease care, Dr. Wolfgang Linden has led a diverse and fascinating career in psychology.

Now a Full Professor in Clinical Psychology at UBC, he actively trains psychologists in an accredited MA/PhD program, maintains a small private practice, and conducts a well-funded research program on psychological factors relating to cardiovascular disease, cancer care, and eating disorders. He is the author of seven books and over 140 peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters.

Dr. Linden’s past experiences include, but are not limited to; being the Director of the UBC Psychology Clinic, the President of the BC Psychological Association, a member of the National Scientific Review Committees (CIHR and the Heart Foundation), serving on consensus committees in Canada, the UK, and Germany, and having been an advocate for mental health care reform through volunteer work with the Canadian Mental Health Association since 1983.
