Dana V. Devine is presently the Vice-President, Medical, Scientific and Research Affairs at Canadian Blood Services and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and a founding member of the University of British Columbia Centre for Blood Research.  Dr. Devine received her PhD in Immunology from Duke University, North Carolina, 1986.  Her central focus of research for the past two decades has been platelet biology, complement biochemistry, blood coagulation and transfusion medicine.  This research has been funded by the Medical Research Council of Canada/Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Canadian Blood Services.  Dr. Devine has served on numerous peer-review panels, advisory committees and boards of directors in both the public and private sectors.
